About Offshore Casinos

What this site is for

Offshore Casinos covers one market for one audience: online casinos licensed outside the United States that accept American players. We publish which operators take sign-ups from which states, what their published welcome terms actually commit to, and what United States federal and state law reach. We put a date on every figure because every figure in this market moves.

Roughly forty states have no licensed online casino market. Readers in those states are not choosing between an offshore operator and a regulated one. They are choosing between an offshore operator and not playing, and pretending otherwise makes a page useless to the person reading it.

How we test

The method is documentary and it is described in full in how we rate, weightings included. Short version: we read the terms, the bonus terms, the cashier and the banking pages, we record the numbers with the date, and where an operator publishes nothing we say so instead of estimating.

How we make money

Some links here are commercial. If you open an account through one, the operator may pay us a commission, and it costs you nothing extra. That arrangement pays for the site and it is disclosed at the foot of every page.

What it does not do is buy position. Rankings come from the published criteria, operators do not see reviews before publication, and an operator whose terms get worse falls. The clearest evidence we can offer is on the money page itself: the single most restricted brand in our lineup is reviewed under a heading that says exactly that.

What we will not publish

Responsible gambling

Everything on this site is aimed at adults of 21 or over who are gambling money they can afford to lose. If that has stopped being true, our responsible gambling page sets out the deposit limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion tools worth using, and the free national helpline numbers are in the footer of every page.
