Beat
I cover one narrow thing: the gap between what United States law actually reaches and which door an offshore operator will actually open for you. Those are different questions and most coverage of this market runs them together, which is how a reader ends up confident about the law and wrong about whether an account will be accepted from their state.
Three layers, always kept separate. Federal statute, which aims at operators and payment processors. State statute, which is a patchwork with one genuine criminal exception in it. And the operator's own restricted-state list, which is a commercial decision made by a compliance officer outside the country and tracks neither of the other two.
How I got here
Nobody in my family gambled. I came to this beat sideways, through paperwork. My first real job was reviewing marketing copy for a small affiliate network, which meant reading operator terms pages all day and flagging every claim the terms themselves did not support. That work is still the whole method: set the banner beside the terms page and read the gap.
What I will not write
- A payout time nobody recorded. If a withdrawal was not timed, there is no number, and I will say the figure is not published rather than borrow one.
- A claim about a registration form I never filled in. A partner-facing excluded-state list is evidence about who an operator wants as a customer. It is not a description of what its signup page does today, and I will not convert one into the other.
- Which licence a specific brand holds, unless I checked it against the issuing regulator's own register on a date I can give you.
- The words safe, guaranteed or risk-free, about any operator, ever. And not grey area either, which is what people write when they do not want to answer.
Independence
This site earns commission from some operators. I do not see commercial terms before writing, and no operator has ever moved in a ranking because of them. The criteria are published in full in how we rate, weightings included, so you can check the order against the reasoning instead of trusting it.
